The Catcher in the Rye

I really enjoyed the first chapter of this novel. It was very entertaining and humorous. I got the impression that the way this author writes is like listening to somebody talk. The writing isn't sophisticated and its understandable which is what I liked best about it. Also, I could tell what kind of personality the main character had just by reading the first page. The author's tone of the book made me feel as if the character is not ashamed of anything- he just tells it as it is, which was also quite humorous.
