Chapter 4

Holden goes to the bathroom and chats with Stradlater. He points out how he's a "secret slob." He's basically saying that Stradlater looks very neat and clean but little things like his razor are dirty and crusty. Then Stradlater asks him to write an English Composition for him because he's going on a date with a girl called Jane. Holden knew Jane and seemed very fascinated by her. He mentioned about playing checkers with her and she'd keep her kings on the side of the board because it looked nice. It seemed like the only thing he has said anything positive about so far in the book.
