Tone- how the author feels

Mood- the way the readers feel

Theme- the main concept of the story

Allusion- a reference to something an author thinks we should know

Foreshadowing- when the author gives a hint about whats going to happen later in the story

"Young Goodman Brown" is full of every one one these terms. For example, in the story the staff has snake on it and mentions that the devil could be at his elbow. This is a biblical reference and also foreshadows the story.
